"D" is for Peace?

The other day I was dropping Peanut off at preschool and as I was leaving I heard one of her teachers start asking the kids to draw pictures of things that start with "D", the letter of the week. I then went off and ran my errands and got all the things I needed to get done that Peanut really dislikes and went to go pick her up. I saw her teachers had put up these projects that they had done and then I saw Peanut's and I thought oh my goodness what am I in for. Peanut had apparently figured out how to draw peace signs, they're her new love. I knew she had figured this out because even thought neither "peace" or "sign" start with the letter "D" she had drawn them and only them all over her paper and then she had slapped on the word "duck".

It pretty much looks like this:

I am not sure what to do about this or how to feel. I am a little upset with her for really not following the directions of her teacher. I am slightly embarassed that she felt this was a acceptable solution to the problem she was given. Also a small sense of pride that she figured out how to draw something she really wanted to learn how to do all by herself. I know in preschool I really don't have to take this to seriously, but what if this is an omen of things to come and tons of trouble for me and our family?

Happy Weekend!
xoxo

Well at least you know for sure she is creative, thinking through things, and she ultimatly understood the activity. My sons letter of the week is E, but he is only 2 so for now he is just working on saying the letter and pointing out things that start with E. Looking forward to how he we respond to this activity when he is a little older.

Found your blog on The Ultimate Blog Hop. Thanks for showing some love!
