drink and a dress: Kentucky apple

Sorry I've been missing, surprisingly I've been pretty busy. Friday was Peanut's Fall fest at school and it was lovely, always an enjoyable experieance. The kids, got to play in a moon bounce, get their faces painted, make their pumpkin center pieces, play with pumpkin spice playdoh (I will be sharing the recipe once the school shares it with me), they made necklaces, decorated cookies and had wonderful snacks and treats. Later in the evening Hubby and I went out to a local resturant for our speacial dinner and it was lovely and everything everyone had said about the place was true. That brings me to my drink and a dress. I unfortunately did not wear a dress like I would have liked to but, Hubby was all set wear his clothes and I didn't have the heart to ask him to change so I wore slacks and a turtleneck and my peacoat because I was freezing. Now that I think about that outfit choice it was perfectly fall but, now I is so warm this week we are wearing skirts with out tights so I feel silly for it. I know, I know I am rambling and you just want to know about the drink. Well, the drink I had there was called a Kentucky Apple I have not been able to find the exact recipe and I really enjoyed the drink so of course I would forget to take a picture of it or the menu with it's contents.

google
Here is the jist of the drink:

bourbon

apple cider

sweet and sour mix

It was red too so I'm not sure if there is something I forgot in my celebratory state. It was so yummy and I really liked it as a fall cocktail it wasn't full of cinnamon or spices and it just had that fresh crisp fall taste to it. If you actually know what goes in this please let me know because I think it will be my featured cocktail at myt Thanksgiving dinner and I think my Dad would really like it too.

Now onto the dress:
I wanted to pick out something warm and comfy and cozy. I really like the look of the dress because it looks just like thekind of sweater I love to wear around in the fall. Normally I pair them with my choice of the day jeans that are normally covered in chalk handprints, flour and whatever else the Peanut and I have gotten into that day.

victoria's secret
I fear this  sweater dress might be a bit to short so I would pair it with tights or leggings and flat boots. Actually i don't know what shoes I would offically pair this with. If you go over to vs they show their outfit and I think it looks bad with those low fur heels bootie thingys. Perhaps just a riding boot to keep it simple, even though in real life I don't think I can pull them off just because my calves are not created for this. Perhaps these Frye Paige tall riding boots...
